What do you need to place your order online?

If you do not find any desing in our website you can place your order directly with us ONLY through Instagram, WhatsApp or text (571-589-9340; @vanessaplacidocakes), but we need to know the size of the cake, flavor and design you want.

Our cakes are made from scratch and are moistened!

Please carefully read the topics below to choose the cake that will best accommodate your expectations and style. If you have a design that you like then you can send the picture to us, but note that we don't make copies. Therefore, if you want something specific, please ask us if it is possible.

Remember the reservation of the date is only valid with initial payment so don't leave it to the last minute. 

SIZE AND FAUX

The sizes of our 1 tier cakes are: 6 in, 8 in, 10 in and 12 in. All are round. 

Our suggestion regarding the number of servings, for regular cake (around 4.5 inches tall) is:

  • 6 in: 15 people
  • 8 in: 25 people
  • 10 in:  40 people
  • 12 in:  55 people

For TALL cakes our suggestion regarding the number of servings is:

  • 6X6 in – 18 people
  • 8X6 in – 30 people

With tiered cakes, the sizes vary, our most popular 2 tiers cake (8in and 6in), it serves up to 40 people.

We work with decoration in faux cakes, check the avaibility. (During summer time we do not make buttercream faux cake)

FLAVORS

Sponge

Doughs used for decorated cakes are: white or vanilla, chocolate and red velvet.

FILLINGS

We don’t use buttercream as a filling!

Our flavors can be:

  • Vanilla cream
  • Chocolate
  • Dulce de leche (with or without pineapple or coconut)
  • Coconut cream
  • Pineapple cream (with or without coconut)
  • Walnuts
  • Peanuts
  • Strawberry jam with cream

FROSTING/ICING: Fondant or Buttercream

FONDANT

This technique consists of covering the cake with Fondant. However, because I work with the cake moistened, they don’t sacrifice texture and taste for aesthetics.

This technique is a little bit more expensive than buttercream.

Cake covered with fondant should NOT be kept in the fridge as it is a more heat resistant cake, but instead before the party it should be kept it in a cold room --  around 69/70 degrees Fahrenheit. 

BUTTERCREAM

This technique consists of covering the cake with buttercream (it is a cream). The decorative components may be fondant, stationery work, or even natural decorations like flowers. The client should clarify which decorative model they prefer to receive an accurate quote.

This cake must be kept in the refrigerator until the time of the event and if there is additional care it can be used at outside parties. 

On cold days, the cake has to be out of the fridge for about 90 minutes before cutting as to make it more creamy. 

 

Remember, we only book the date with the first payment. Custom Cakes have a final confirmation with all details. The customer has to make sure everything is there, because we follow the final confirmation to make your beautiful cake.
